These beautiful handmade banneton proofing baskets use 100% natural rattan and are perfect for proofing your artisan sourdough bread. Each basket comes with a cotton cloth liner.
How to Use: We like to use a mix of rice and unbleached wheat flours for dusting the inside of the baskets. You can also use the included cloth liner for doughs that are higher in hydration. Dust the liner lightly with the rice flour mixture. If you find the dough sticking, you can use a small spatula to loosen the the dough from the basket.
Care: For initial use, rinse with warm water and place upside down to dry. For normal use, a stiff brush can be used to brush out the flour. Do not use soap or other cleaners for the baskets.
Dimensions: Banneton dimensions are outside dimensions and are approximate. All bannetons are 8 cm (3 inches) high/deep. They are hand made, and dimensions will vary slightly.
Round - 20 cm (8 inch) suitable for dough weight of 500-800 g
Round - 22 cm (9 inch) suitable for dough weight of 800-1000 g
Oval - 25 cm by 15 cm (10 by 6 inches) suitable for dough weight of 800-1000 g
